I've written POV’s on AI visibility, social media strategy for executives, and why cars should have a friendly honk.
Below you can find my thoughts on how my background in
brand + social + entertainment have joined forces to form one supertheory to protect the ad world from boring briefs.
I’m a former NBC Page with an M.S. in Brand Stratregy.
Yes, like Kenneth from 30 Rock.
And, yes, you can get a masters in brand strategy.
In other words,
I’m a student of pop culture and master of the 4C’s.
I’ve spent over a decade at
social-first agencies on a mix of brand & entertainment clients.
I’ve built playbooks for the
2nd largest brand on Earth and pitched concepts to the
3rd oldest Jonas brother.
Whether working on Nike or Netflix, I’ve learned that…
Every business is
show business.
Social has shifted to an interest-driven algorithm and is now the go-to destination for culture. The bar for earning attention keeps rising as brands compete in the feed alongside creators and clips.
If you’re not entertaining, you’re interrupting.
Every brand is
social.
The era of one-way, linear advertising is dead.
Brands initiate less than 1% of the conversation about themselves.
The other 99% happens beyond their control.
Brands live and die in the comments section.
Source: BrandwatchThe best brands
imitate culture,
not the competitoin.
They thrive where their truth meets their audience’s taste.
Culture moves fast but also runs deep.
Jumping on every trend is a wild goose chase. Audiences can spot inauthenticity from a mile away.
Relevance comes from balancing speed with substance.
The most resonant brand stories are universal & specific.
They tap into a truth everyone recognizes,
then make it unmistakably their own.
Strategy brings order to disorder.
Good ideas can come from anywhere, and so can good insights. They don’t always arrive in the “right” sequence.
A strategist’s job is to connect the dots, grounding big ideas in truths that make the creative feel inevitable.

And now, a brief overview of my approach to briefs.
Make the unsexy
sexy.
I’ve worked on sexy campaigns starring the sexiest stars in film & TV, but the greatest satisfaction is turning an ordinary problem into a juicy creative opportunity.
Make the rational emotional.
Stories light up our brains in a way features and figures never could.
Magic happens when you transform facts into feelings.
Undercomplicate
the complicated.
People are complex, but strategy doesn’t have to be.
The best briefs, like the best stories, are deceptively simple.
DM me for samples of
undercomplicated briefs.
